Over 30 Years Experience, Commitment & Excellence

California State & Federal Criminal Trial Attorney

Have you been arrested? Are you under an investigation?

Discuss your case with an experienced, AV rated* criminal defense attorney prior to making a decision that may affect your future.

From the moment of charging (or even before, if you retain me early enough) I will put my extensive trial and jury experience to work for your defense. I spend the time necessary to make sure that we have developed the best defense possible prior to discussing settlement or going to trial.

Criminal Investigation

Over the years, I have had considerable success at trial, resulting in being named a "SuperLawyer®"** by my peers in California. Part of my success in the criminal defense area is my extensive investigation process. The investigation should usually include the following:

  • Interview of witnesses
  • Review of the case file
  • Investigation of background of witnesses or accusers
  • Investigation of the circumstances of the arrest

Criminal Defense Cases

I have the resources and experience to handle any type of criminal allegation, including but not limited to:

Your Constitutional Rights

Everyone who is accused of a crime in the United States has legal rights They include the right to know the charge, face your accusers, and cross examine witnesses. If the police ask to search your house, car, or person, they cannot do so without probable cause, a search warrant, or your consent. If you are arrested, you have the right to an attorney and the right to remain silent. (You do not need to be under arrest to exercise this right!) For someone to be convicted of a crime, the State has to prove its case beyond any reasonable doubt.

My job as your defense attorney is to make sure that the government respects all of these rights, and meets their high standard of proof. After over 30 years of experience, I have become quite familiar with the criminal justice system, and can sometimes obtain a victory where a less experienced or well-trained lawyer might not.  I am now listed in the Martindale Hubbell "Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers."  I am also a Fellow, Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society.  You can find info on the organization at http://www.trialcounsel.org/.
